Music and WorshipWorship Choir Members enter here The Bible says in John 4:23-24 (NIV) that true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. Worship is a lifestyle, not just a Sunday morning service. We worship with our lives by obeying the Word of God. The worship of God takes on many facets and requires many talents and gifts other than only singing or playing instruments. The Music and Worship Ministry at Beechland Baptist seeks to help believers identify and fulfill the use of their gifts and bring honor to the Father in worship. There are a variety of opportunities available to serve through the arts and media. Below is a list of those opportunities. We have many ways you can express your love of Christ!
The Worship Choir functions as the entry point for adult involvement in the music ministry of Beechland. The Worship Choir leads in worship approximately three times a month as well as seasonal productions at Christmas and Easter. The choir rehearses on Wednesday from 7:30-8:30pm and is open to all adults. No audition is required.
Vocal Team Ministry is a new ministry at Beechland. The Vocal Team is used to assist the Minister of Music in leading worship on Sundays. Vocal Team members are selected from the Worship Choir and auditions are required to be in this group.
Instrumental Worship Team is a committed team of instrumentalists that help lead in our worship services. While our 8:00am Traditional Service uses primarily piano and organ, our Contemporary Services at 9:30 and 11:00am use a variety of instruments...including piano, organ, synth, guitars, bass, drums and other instruments. We are continually looking to add to this team. Contact Dave Love at 935-1313 if you would be interested in joining this exciting ministry team.
Various Ensemble groups lead in worship from time to time. One team may sing more traditional music while the other worships with a contemporary style. Auditions are required to be in an ensemble. Youth Choir is open to all youth in 6th through 12th grade. This choir sings in worship as well as prepares for special events during the summer. This past summer they were involved in a Mission Trip to Helen, Georgia where they held concerts and led in community projects. The Youth Choir is planning on returning to Helen, Georgia this coming July to continue mission work. The choir rehearses on Sunday from 5:00-6:00pm.
Children's Choir is open to all children in 1st through 5th grade. This choir is known for its seasonal special musical performances. They have presented "Donkey Tales", "Sermon on the Mound", "Father Knows Best", "Dr. Newheart's Neck Up, Check Up", "Solid Rock Cafe'", as well as many others. It's a choir with lots of energy...and your child would love it. The choir rehearses on Wednesday from 6:30-6:50pm.
Preschool Choir is open to children age 4 & 5. This choir works on the fundamentals of music. They learn about God through interactive play and songs. The choir rehearses on Wednesday from 6:30-6:50pm.
Bell Choir is open to adults who enjoy making music together. We currently have a group playing 2 octaves of bells. They participate in our worship services.
Tech Ministry Team oversees the sound, lights, graphics and multimedia in all our services and special events. It's a great team to be involved in.
Sign Art is open to anyone who is interested in sign language, movement and dance. This is a unique art form which helps interpret songs in a variety of styles. Drama is open to anyone who is interesed in conveying the theme of the service in a way that uses creative abilities. |
